Lookeen for the Public Sector

Agencies, courts and municipalities work with large file shares, many mailboxes and clear responsibilities. Lookeen Server makes all of it searchable – on-premises, connected to your Active Directory and with the permissions that already apply.

Typical requirements

Run in-house

Software and data have to run in your own infrastructure – without depending on external clouds.

Access by responsibility

Everyone may only see what they're authorized for – in search, too.

Central IT, many workstations

Installation, configuration and operation have to be centrally managed, often on virtual desktops.

How Lookeen helps

On-premises with Active Directory

Lookeen Server is installed as a Windows service on your server and regularly syncs users and groups with Active Directory. Sign-in via single sign-on (NTLM/Kerberos).

Permission-aware results

For files, mailboxes, PST archives and public folders, Lookeen stores the actual access rights. Every search is filtered – nobody finds more than they could already open.

File servers, Exchange and scans

Lookeen indexes network shares, Exchange (including public folders), Microsoft 365 and PST archives in over 300 formats. Scanned documents become searchable with OCR, optionally with local text recognition.

Central rollout and operation

Clients can be deployed and configured via Group Policy. Lookeen also runs in Citrix, VMware and terminal server environments, and users can search in the browser without any client.
