How Lookeen helps
Network drives and mailboxes together
Lookeen Server indexes file servers, Exchange, Microsoft 365 and PST archives centrally. Search in the browser, in the Lookeen client or right inside Outlook.
Only permitted results
Lookeen takes over permissions from Active Directory, the file system and Exchange. If someone can't open a folder, they can't find its contents through search either.
Scans and faxes become searchable
OCR makes text in scanned PDFs, faxes and images findable. With Lookeen Server, recognition can run locally with Tesseract.
Many formats, one preview
More than 300 file formats are indexed. Office documents, PDFs and images open in the preview with search terms highlighted.
Confidentiality & control
- No DPA needed for search: Because content never leaves your network, Lookeen GmbH does not process data on your behalf for it. Data protection & GDPR
- On-premises: Lookeen Server runs as a Windows service in your network. The index and configuration live on your own drives and can be protected with drive encryption such as BitLocker.
- No data to Lookeen: Indexed content never leaves your environment. The optional version check only transmits version information and can be turned off.
- Active Directory sign-in: Single sign-on via NTLM/Kerberos; users removed from Active Directory also lose access to Lookeen.
- AI with local models: Lookeen AI works with language models in your own infrastructure – documents never leave your network. AI is off by default and only enabled when an administrator chooses to; customer data is never used for training. Learn more
